Most eco-tour/whale watching companies depart from Victoria. The thing is, all the animals hang out up the coast of Victoria! This means that when you depart from downtown Victoria (where most of the other companies are based), you spend a lot of time traveling out of the Inner Harbour of Victoria, rounding the southern tip of the Island, and making your way up to where most of the animal sightings take place close to us!

Sea Quest is located just outside of Victoria, on the Saanich Peninsula. Our departure point in Sidney BC is smack in the middle of “the zone” for wildlife in this area. When you depart from our location, you get to skip the travel time and:
Just because we’re outside of Victoria, doesn’t mean we’re out in the boonies, either:

We’ve got all the same advantages that other companies can claim:
AND we offer GAURANTEED Sightings!
Because of our northerly latitude it will stay light until 10:00 PM. on our summer days.
While the animals will not do anything over one time of day or another, the morning trip and the evening trip are the least

They are loose fitting full body suits that are made of life vest material. In Canada, Ship Safety and Transport Canada require these suits to be worn to keep guests safe. They are great to have and even on the hottest days here on our coast it is cool on the water.

Do we have very small and very large sizes?
Suits can fit a person up to 6’9” tall and about 400 lb. The extra smalls fit people about 5’ tall. If there are small children coming on board it is best to bring some warm clothing for these children. Some parents will bring rain coats so they are a complete wind breaker. All children will wear a life vest while on board.
No, we have had children from 3 months to 94 years on our vessel.
Absolutely and don’t forget lots of film and batteries.
Only should it rain. Even then the jump suits that guests wear keep you dry and warm. It is possible to get some spray on the odd day should the wind be blowing.
Generally calm. Sidney is within all the islands so it is difficult to get large waves. Some boat wakes will be encountered.
